Legion to host King Henry & the Showmen

The Catasauqua American Legion proudly presents King Henry and the Showmen on Friday, Aug. 24.

Light refreshments and beer and soda will be served from 7 to 8 p.m.

The showtime is 8 to 11 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door and seating is limited to 170 persons.

The Catasauqua Community Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., will hold a one-half price sale beginning Monday, Aug. 13, and running through Saturday, Aug. 25. The sale includes everything in the store unless marked otherwise.

The shop will close for housecleaning and changeover the week of Aug. 27 and will reopen Tuesday, Sept. 4, with new clothing for fall and winter.

Proceeds from the thrift shop are returned to the community through contributions that support youth and adult programs and services throughout Catasauqua.

Donations of good used clothing are gratefully accepted during store operation hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday, Tueday, Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday and Saturday.


The Catasauqua Cosmos U-9 Girls Soccer will hold a car wash fundraiser on Saturday, Aug. 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Blocker's Service and Hardware lot, 307 Front St.

Hot dogs, snacks and drinks will be available for purchase.

Catty Cosmos is a U-9 girls travel soccer team representing the Catasauqua Youth Soccer Association.

This fundraiser will help provide uniforms and supplies for the teams' fall and spring season for the 2012-13 year.

Come on out and help a good cause!
