Letter to the editor: Thank you for successful 'night out'
To the Editor:
Thank you to the more than 250 residents who attended the 18th Annual Coplay Town Watch "National Night Out Against Crime" celebration Aug. 7. A large thank you goes to the more than 30 volunteers who ran the event.
The American Club of Coplay hosted the event at their beautiful pavilion. It was a great night.
Thank you to the National Association of Town Watch for their near 30 years of work helping to keep the nation safe. The CTW has been part of NATW since 1996.
This community event brought together three generations of residents for kids' games, food and refreshments and fun.
The Lehigh County Sheriff, district attorney's office, Coplay Police Department, mayor, Turning Point, Crime Victims Council, Impact Panel, Lehigh County Adult and Juvenile Probations, Coplay Fire Department, Coplay EMA, Coplay Feral Cat Committee, Coplay Public Library, Cetronia Ambulance, Tootsie the Clown, the CTW Crime Chicken, a face painter and Lehigh Valley Hospital's MedEvac were there to send the message crime is unwelcome in Coplay.
This event underscores the police and community partnership to fight crime in Coplay.
The Coplay Town Watch has come a long way since its first NNO and founding July 1995 on North Fifth Street. Consider joining the Coplay Town Watch as we work to make Coplay a safer, better, cleaner community.
