Catasauqua column: Club to host beach party Saturday

The Catasauqua Club, 226 Pine St., will hold a beach party and vacation giveaway Saturday, Sept. 8, beginning at 4 p.m.

A raffle will be held to win a weeklong vacation at the Sandy Beach Resort in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Traditional summertime fare will be served and guests are encouraged to wear their favorite beach attire.

Tickets are available for purchase in advance or at the door.

Don't forget Salem United Church of Christ, 615 Third St., will host a flea market this Saturday, Sept. 8, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

It will feature a silent auction, bake sale and food. Jam, jellies, pickles and red beets will also be for sale.


Get ready for the fall season of bingo at St. Mary's Parish Center, Second and Union streets, starting 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9.

The kitchen will open at 11:30 a.m.

The event is sponsored by the Assembled Men of St. Mary's.

The Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua, Second and Pine streets, is looking for vendors for the Nutcracker Sweet Vendor, Craft and Flea Sale scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 3, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church.

Catasauqua High School Class of 1950 and '51 will hold a luncheon Wednesday, Sept. 12, at 11:30 a.m. at the Old Country Buffet, Whitehall.

No reservations are required. Guests are welcome.


The Catasauqua Fire Police will hold a community sale 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at the fire training grounds on Race Street.
