Saturday event will benefit library

If face painting, story times, "make 'n' take" craft activities, and prize drawings are your idea of fun for kids, then mark your calendar for this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Fiends of the Whitehall Township Public Library and the Teen Advisory Board (TAB) will join library staff members and volunteers in hosting the day's activities.

The "back to school" event is sponsored by Boscov's, which wants to help raise funds and awareness for the Whitehall library at its Lehigh Valley store. The event will include chances to learn about the variety of programs and resources offered by the library, and the Friends will hold a mini children's book sale. Volunteers will be selling hot dogs, and you can enter a raffle for a chance to win fabulous prizes, including new release young adult books and a back-to-school basket filled with books, toys and other fun surprises! All of this will take place in the children's department of Boscov's.

Grown-ups will have a chance to win drawings for some more adult prizes. They also will have chance to buy Boscov's Friends Helping Friends shopping passes for $5. These passes bring great discounts for future shopping trips to Boscov's and provide the $5 donation for the library.

From Sept. 15-29, a $1 donation at any store register will purchase a paper bookmark pin-up to benefit the library, and you will receive a complimentary library bookmark in exchange.

The Trustees and staff of Whitehall Township Public Library are most grateful to Boscov's for its community spirit and for its effort through this event to support the library. Please come to the store to show your appreciation to the store.
