Flea market, chili contest set

An indoor flea market/yard sale will be held 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, April 20, at the First Presbyterian Church of Hokendauqua, 3005 S. Front St.

There will be lots of treasures for everyone, as well as a bake sale.

The church will also be sponsoring a chili cook-off and pie contest 1-3 p.m. the same day.

Contact the church at 610-264-9693 or email hokeypres@rcn.com to register for the contest.

The admission fee for the public will include a bowl of chili, bread, a drink and chili samples, so participants can vote for the best of show. Hot dogs and baked goods will also be available.

Faith Lutheran Church, 3355 MacArthur Road, will be holding its annual spring craft fair and quilt sale 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, May 4.

Again, in addition to crafters set up inside and outside the church, the event will feature a huge display of Mennonite home-made quilts, both for viewing and purchase.
