Faith Lutheran welcomes intern

Sunday, Sept. 1, will be an exciting day at Faith Lutheran Church, Whitehall. The congregation will be welcoming its 11th intern on that day.

Vicar Joshua Johnson will be starting his one-year internship at the church. Johnson, a native of North Carolina, is a student at Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in South Carolina. He will be working with Pastor Michael Bodnyk to gain practical experience in parish ministry.


Faith Lutheran recently celebrated the Holy Baptism of Serenity Ann Sarley, infant daughter of Sarah Dunbar and Seth Sarley of Whitehall. Her sponsors were Amanda Ceasar and Joshua Dunbar.


The Women's Club of Whitehall Township will meet 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, in the lower level of Faith Lutheran Church, 3355 MacArthur Road.

Cathy Long, whose program will be "Reminiscing about Hess' Department Store."
