Fullerton American Legion holds open house Saturday

The Fullerton American Legion and Sons of the American Legion Post 367 will be hold an open house and membership drive this Saturday, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Potential members can come in to meet with a representative from the Legion post, the Sons of the American Legion and the ladies' auxiliary who will answer questions about membership.

There will also be food and refreshments available.


St. John's Lutheran Church, 835 Third St., Whitehall, will hold their vacation Bible school program titled "Jungle Safari," from June 23-27, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The closing program will take place Sunday, June 29, during the 9:30 a.m. worship service.

There is no charge but a free will offering will be taken.


St. John's United Church of Christ, 575 Grape St., Whitehall, will host a Coach and Vera Bradley purse bingo Friday, June 20.

Doors open 6 p.m. and bingo begins 7 p.m.

A big congratulations to Joshua Bateman, son of very proud parents Jay and Tammi Bateman, on his May 10 graduation from the Citadel Military College of South Carolina in Charleston.

Joshua earned a B.S. in electrical engineering. He attained the rank of second lieutenant and made the dean's list his last semester. Joshua also played rugby for four years.
