Cement Belt Fair opens Monday

The youth group at Shepherd of the Hills United Church of Christ will be participating in the Whitehall Relay for Life June 20-21. At the relay, held at the Whitehall High School stadium, the group will host a Chinese auction fundraiser to benefit the American Cancer Society.

Also at Shepherd of the Hills, vacation Bible school will be held July 14-18, 6 to 8:30 p.m. The theme this year is "Weird Animals," a habitat filled with Bible-learning experiences. Children will use their five senses, take part in team-building games and will learn some fun Bible songs. There will also be a chance to participate in a hands-on mission project in which they will help provide water for school children in India.

The program is for ages 3 through sixth grade who are entering seventh in the fall. Teens may participate as crew leaders, assisting with younger children.

The church is located at 4129 S. Church St., Whitehall.
