This Saturday, Oct. 7, promises to be a gem for Whitehall Township residents. A parade, fall festival and car show are all packaged together as a busy one-day event, held rain or shine — and, hopefully, the autumn weather will cooperate.
The annual parade, complete with bands and floats, will kick off 10 a.m. Since some roads in West Catasauqua are under construction, the parade route will return to its former procession. The staging will take place at the Whitehall Square shopping center on MacArthur Road. The parade will head west on Schadt Avenue to Campus Drive and finish on the Whitehall-Coplay School District campus, along Mechanicsville Road.
Presented by Whitehall Area Chamber of Commerce and WACC Foundation, the fall festival takes place in the parking lot of Whitehall High School. It begins 11 a.m. — coinciding with the anticipated ending time of the parade — and ends 4 p.m.
Music, food, entertainment, crafts, activities and horse-drawn carriage rides are included in the festival itinerary.
School clubs and civic organizations will also have displays. Vendor/crafter spots are still available for a cost. Email Laura Long at firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
The eighth annual car show, also held on the grounds of the high school, runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
