WCSD cafeteria worker

Myrtle “Mert” J. Fried, 92, formerly of Fullerton, died Oct. 2, 2017, at her residence at Fellowship Manor, Whitehall. She was the wife of the late Franklin “Pat” D. Fried for 60 years.

Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late William C. and Lillie L. (Yoder) Kline.

She worked in the customer service department for Sears for many years before retiring. She worked in the cafeteria for the Whitehall-Coplay School District.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua.

She was a former member of the Jesse K. Berlin Order and the current Rose Croix Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by two sons, Glenn A. and his wife Ann and Mark A. and his wife Patricia; six grandchildren, Christopher, Jefferson, Jonathan, Lucas, David and Elizabeth; 11 great-grandchildren; and a nephew.

She was predeceased by a sister, Norma; and a brother, Clifford.
