Boys get two, big scoring efforts

The Whitehall boys soccer team got a couple of huge scoring efforts which produced victories.

The Zephs beat Lehighton 9-0 as well as Nazareth 6-0 in a couple of recently games. The team also fell to Emmaus 3-0.

Whitehall scored five goals in the first half on the road against Lehighton, then added four more in the second half.

Kresstoph Whittick scored first on an assist from Aziz Atiyeh. Atiyeh then found the back of the net on the next two goals for the Zephs. Atiyeh would score the team’s eighth goal and also added another assist for a big day in the score book.

Tony Rodriguez would add two goals in the game and assisted on Atiyeh’s first goal. Rodney Kontor also added two goals in the game while Jake Gier had a goal and an assist. Zahir Linton had four assists on the day while Kevin Alkhal added an assist.

The Zephs outshot the Indians 19-2. Alex Khouri and Justin Mattison each made a save in net for WHS.

Whitehall got off to a big start against the Eagles too. The Zephs scored four in the first half and added two more in the second.

Again it was Aziz Atiyeh who got the team off to a fast start. Atiyeh scored two goals while Zahir Linton and Kresstoph Whittick added the other two in the first half. Whittick and Linton added the final two goals in the second half.

Whittick and Linton finished with two goals and an assist. Jake Gier and Tony Rodriguez each added two assists.

Alex Khouri made two saves in net.

The Zephs fell to Emmaus 3-0. The Hornets scored once in the first half and put the game away with two more in the second half.

Justin Ilado, Nick Cari and Thomas Hanvey each scored for Emmaus.
