Coplay library: Adult reading program to begin

Wednesday, January 10, 2018 by The Press in Columns

Sign up for our “Readers in the Rue Morgue” adult winter reading program. Registration begins Jan. 15.

We also have a book bingo challenge for you to take.

Reading logs and bingo challenges are due March 15 by 5 p.m. A small program wrap-up party will be held March 29. The time is to be determined.

Story time and crafts with Miss Veronica will be 11 a.m. Jan. 11, 18 and 25. All ages are welcome to attend.

For more information, contact the library at 610-262-7351.

Join us Jan. 20 for our free movie Saturday with a “Double Alice” double feature. Our 11:30 a.m. show will be “Disney’s Alice in Wonderland,” while our 1:30 p.m. show will be the live-action “Alice in Wonderland” starring Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway and Helena Bonham-Carter.

Game night will be 5-7 p.m. Jan. 29. Our Scrabble experts will be on hand, but if you would prefer to suggest a different game, we are up to the challenge.

Although our next book sale isn’t until April, we welcome book donations all year. We cannot accept VHS tapes, textbooks, encyclopedias, Reader’s Digest condensed books or any materials that are dirty, torn or damaged by mildew or smoke. All donations are tax-deductible and can be dropped off during our open hours: 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Thursday or 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

For your safety, do not put donated books in the book drop box that is outside the library.

While the weather often makes it hard for you to get to the library, don’t be discouraged. We have many e-books and audio books available through the Overdrive system. If you are a resident of the borough and have a Coplay library card, contact us for your password. Then you can download items to your Nooks, Kindles, tablets or computers. There are never any late fees for these items, and you can enjoy them without ever having to leave the comfort and warmth of your house!

Quick reminder: In case of inclement weather, you can check to see if we are open by keeping an eye on the WFMZ Storm Center.

While the library does not always follow the school district’s schedule, it could be a good indicator of whether or not we open. Our first priority is always safety.

We do not charge fines for any days we are closed for weather.
