Stiles: Be safe during our first heat wave
We are experiencing our first heat wave of the summer of 2018.
Remember to check on elderly friends and neighbors to make sure they have a way of staying cool.
Also, take care of your pets by giving them plenty of water and keep them inside where it’s cooler.
Fans will help provide air circulation through your home, even if you do not have air conditioning. You can also place cold, wet towels on your neck to keep cool.
Remember to hydrate and drink water before you become thirsty.
Many area residents are planning vacations or staycations right now.
