Margaret “Sally” L. Ferreira, 88, of Northampton and formerly of Beersville, died June 30, 2018, in Monroe, N.Y. She was the wife of the late Jacob “Jay” Ferreira for 60 years.

Born in Northampton County, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Verna (Beers) Frey.

She attended Northampton Senior High School.

She worked, for a number of years, at Northampton Cross Country Clothes and later was a management assistant at the firm of Siebert, Ferreira, Schlicting Architects & Planners, Allentown.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Northampton.

She was a board member of Northampton Area Historical Society, beginning with the Northampton Borough Diamond Jubilee celebration and the 1976 restoration of the Siegfried Railroad Station. She was a member of the Willow Brook woman’s golf league.

She is survived by a son, Colonel Jay M. and his wife Lt. Col. Stacey L. of Monroe, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Sierra, Amy, Jacob and Michael; a sister, Esther Catino of Aiken, S.C.; and two brothers, Russell of Wind Gap and David of Kunkletown.

She was predeceased by a brother, Paul of Barnesville; and two sisters, Pauline Silfies of Warminster and Miriam Bender of Danielsville.
