Hesch Automotive Service, of Whitehall, celebrated its 40th anniversary Sept. 19. Local elected officials were invited to attend.

Hesch Automotive Service, 3028 S. Front St., was founded in 1978 by Frank and Anne Hesch Jr. The business started in Coplay and outgrew two locations in the borough before moving to Whitehall in 1980.

Frank and Anne, along with their son Frank III, have continued the tradition of quality commercial and consumer vehicle repair. The company bases its operation on the belief that their customers’ needs are of the utmost importance.

Hesch Automotive Service specializes in individualized motor vehicle services and repairs that include cars, recreational vehicles, buses and commercial vehicles. The shop and yard have the facilities to handle oversized vehicles in a secure gated area.

Maintaining a range of long-term customers that include extensive fleet services, the shop has continued to grow in the Whitehall location. Over the past 40 years, Hesch’s has had a staff of dedicated employees who have helped it to grow and provide service to all clientele.

Hesch’s has had a devoted client base for many years. Some families being serviced are second and third generations. A number of the business’ clients have been with Hesch’s since its early years when it was dealing with the gas crisis.

Times have changed, but through it all, Hesch Automotive Service has focused on providing a client-centered approach. It is a local veteran-owned business, with Frank Jr. having served in Vietnam.
