Coplay Public Library: Spring book, bake sale scheduled for April 5, 6 at Coplay library

Wednesday, April 3, 2019 by The Press in Columns

The spring book and bake sale will be held 11 a.m.-4 p.m. April 5 and 6.

There will be selections for all ages including a special section featuring books on the schools’ reading lists.

If you are interested in baking for the sale, please contact a board member or stop by the library.

There will also be raffle baskets available to take a chance on.

There’s still time to purchase tickets for the 50/50 raffle. The drawing will be 4 p.m. April 6.

You don’t need to be present to win.

The more tickets sold, the bigger the winnings!

Bring your children to storytime with Miss Veronica 11 a.m. Thursday mornings during April.

Spring is here, so there may be stories and crafts related to this beautiful season. Children will enjoy developing their creative and social skills.

No preregistration is required, and all ages are welcome.

Coplay Borough has special events planned to commemorate the 150th anniversary. The library is helping to mark this milestone by displaying Coplay items.

If you have any photographs, mementos or keepsakes of Coplay, we would love to borrow them to display. Anything you could tell us about the objects would also be a great help.

We will display your name with the items if you wish.

During the month of April, we will be highlighting the 1969 centennial and subsequent important historical events.

If you haven’t received your new library card, come in and register.

Bring your driver’s license or photo ID and your Coplay library card and any other library cards you have. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent.

You will get a colorful new full-size library card and a keychain card. This card will allow you to check out and return items at 11 local libraries in Lehigh and Carbon counties. You can also request a book or other resource from one of the libraries and receive it more quickly than in the past.

The registration process will take a few minutes, and you will be ready to explore the new Lehigh Carbon Library Cooperative world!

The Pennsylvania Department of Revenue has stopped sending tax forms, including the rent rebate form, to libraries. Tax forms are available on the state website, revenue.pa.gov.

If you don’t have access to a computer or printer, we will print them for you for a small cost.

We appreciate donations for our each of our book sales. You don’t have to wait until we announce the sales to donate — we accept donations all year.

We no longer accept VHS tapes, sets of encyclopedias or textbooks.

Please do not bring torn, dirty or marked items. We can’t get odors such as smoke, must, mildew or mold out of books.
