Two vying for Whitehall mayor
Why should voters choose you to be the mayor of Whitehall Township?
MICHAEL P. HARAKAL JR.
In the year since returning to office, the staff and I have completed the long-awaited public safety building project, found a local buyer to redevelop the Lehigh Valley Dairy building and arrived at an agreement with PennDOT to reconstruct the Fifth Street bridge.
Our biggest job — to get value out of your hard-earned tax dollars. We have done that while improving our playgrounds, getting nontax status for our senior center, adding projects to our road system and bringing back more of your money from the state.
Working together we have done more, to accomplish more, to benefit everyone in Whitehall.
For the past 15 years, I have passionately served the Whitehall Township citizens as a member of the planning commission, Coplay Whitehall Sewer Authority and commissioner. I will focus my efforts on improving core assets including streets, fire, police, parks and recreation and township properties.
I have the drive, youth, stamina and experience to be your mayor. I pledge to use common sense, to be fiscally responsible and to make the hard decisions with firmness and compassion, always considering the best interests of Whitehall and its citizens.
I am excited about the future of Whitehall and look forward to being your mayor.
