Anthony “Tony” Makris, 90, of Easton, died July 28, 2019, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg. He was the husband of Patricia (Rush) Makris for 23 years and of the late Harriet Dexter (Ballweg) Makris.

Born in Bayonne, N.J., he was a son of the late Alex and Angela (Hartacolis) Makris.

He was in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a disabled American veteran.

He was a 60-year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and served in many administrative positions. He was an international representative for more than 26 years. He negotiated contract agreements, arbitrated grievances and disputes and serviced local unions. More recently, he was the business administrator for the IBEW/Lucent retirees.

He was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Bethlehem.

He was a member of the Fullerton American Legion Post 367 and was a Disabled American Veterans life member.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Michael, Owen and Brett with Cindy; a daughter, Dexter Hanel with Robert; a sister, Stella Aliferis; two stepchildren, Jim Nimas with Stacy and Nikki Benjamin with Scott; and 11 grandchildren.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Gene and Michael N. Makris.

Arrangements were made by John F. Herron Funeral Home Inc., Bethlehem.
