Northampton: Borough tree lighting is Dec. 1

Northampton will hold its tree-lighting ceremony Dec. 1 at Main Street and Laubach Avenue.

The program will begin 5:30 p.m. with carols. Santa is scheduled to arrive 6 p.m. aboard a borough firetruck.


Reminder: The borough municipal building, 1401 Laubach Ave., will be closed Nov. 28 and 29 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.


Northampton Area Food Bank is celebrating the 10th anniversary of Judy’s Little Santa Shop with an event set for 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Dec. 7 at East Allen Township Fire Department, 5354 Nor-Bath Blvd.

Children who utilize the food bank are invited to come and shop for gifts for their immediate family. There is no charge.

Santa and special guests Mickey and Minnie will be there.

Orders for Assumption of the Virgin Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church’s nut roll sale can be picked up 9 a.m.-noon Dec. 7 at the church, 1301 Newport Ave. You must have ordered by Nov. 24.
