Coplay Public Library: Open house planned for Dec. 21 at Coplay library
Mark your calendar for Coplay Public Library’s holiday open house Dec. 21. The theme will be “The Night Before Christmas.”
The program begins 11 a.m. with a special storytime, followed by singing, a movie and refreshments.
Everyone is encouraged to wear their favorite comfy pajamas. Bring your favorite stuffed animal so it can celebrate the holidays with us.
Reminder: Storytime and crafts with Miss Veronica and Miss Janice will be 11 a.m. Dec. 12, 19 and 26.
Adults are also welcome for a fun and relaxing hour. No preregistration is required.
If you have any questions regarding storytime, contact the library at 610-262-7351.
The library is holding a holiday stocking raffle. Tickets are on sale until Dec. 21.
The drawing will take place 2 p.m. Dec. 21 during the open house.
Choose from the children’s, indoor/outdoor hanging decoration, dog or cat stockings. The children’s stocking will include craft items such as markers, colored pencils and a stuffed animal, making it appropriate for multi-aged gift giving.
All proceeds benefit the library.
The Monday game nights are a great way to relax, mingle and jingle from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Scrabble is the favorite in our library, and our experts are waiting for new challengers. They are happy to try another game, so bring your family and friends. We have some games available — or bring your own.
If you or someone you know is interested in learning chess, let anyone working at the desk know. If there is interest, maybe we can explore this idea in the new year.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you from the library’s board and staff.
The library will be closed Dec. 24 and 25, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
It will also be closed Dec. 31 and Jan. 1, 2020, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
You can download an audio book or e-book from Overdrive, a resource available from Pennsylvania libraries. For details, go to the library home page, coplaypubliclibrary.org. Click on E-resources, then Libby/Overdrive. You will find instructions using your personal device.
The password is the last four digits of the phone number you wrote on your library registration card. Your library card must be current to use Overdrive.
Use this free resource over the holidays to unwind from all the traffic and festivities.
The weather is chilly right now, but there will surely be more frightful days ahead.
Our primary concern is the safety of our patrons and staff. While we make every effort to remain open, there will be times when it will be necessary to close the library. Follow us on the WFMZ Stormcenter and our Facebook page for any closings.
No fines are charged for any days we are closed or close early.
