Making a change
Nov. 13 was World Kindness Day, and the students and families at 3d Dance Studio spread kindness throughout the Lehigh Valley in more ways than one.
For the entire week, students, families and staff organized ways they could give back to the community. They collected 288 batteries to donate to the Colonial Intermediate Unit No. 21 adapted toy day, collected items to make 36 welcome baskets to Valley Youth House and completed more than 250 acts of kindness.
As part of the weeklong acts of kindness, 3d Dance Studio sold Kindness Day shirts and donated $748 from the sales to the nonprofit Center for Humanistic Change.
“The Center for Humanistic Change Inc. would like to extend our sincere thanks to 3d Dance Studio for [its] support, which is vital in providing CHC the means to continue to serve ‘at-risk’ youth in the Lehigh Valley,” said Arlene Lund, executive director of Center for Humanistic Change.
Watching the studio come together to give back to the community has been inspirational and emotional for many. 3d Dance Studio owner Danielle Fritz O’Brien continues to make it her mission to not only provide the most comprehensive dance and gymnastic instruction to the students at the studio, but also provide opportunities for students and families to give back to the community, in which the studio has been a part of for 10 years.
Center for Humanistic Change received the check during a presentation Nov. 13 at 3d Dance Studio, located at 2022 Main St., Northampton. Accepting the check for CHC was Theresa Krohn, manager resource development.
