Margaret Hoffman, 91, formerly of Whitehall and in the care of Lehigh Commons, Macungie, died Jan. 1, 2020, after a struggle with dementia. She was the wife of the late Lewis Hoffman of Allentown.
Born in Muncy, she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Wilhelmina Bastian of South Williamsport.
She earned advanced education degrees from Penn State. She taught health, physical education, spelling and history. She also taught younger children with reading difficulties.
She was a member of Bethany Wesleyan Church, Cherryville, where she taught Bible studies and assisted in church activities.
She is survived by three children, Suzanne Pavelko and her husband George, Glenn Fritts and his wife Jayne and David Fritts and his wife Diane; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Clyde and Doug Bastian.
There will be a calling time 10-11 a.m., followed by funeral services 11 a.m., Jan. 11 at the funeral home, 234 Walnut St., Catasauqua, 18032.
