Ruth E. (Fisher) Poppe, of Whitehall, died Dec. 26, 2019, at Fellowship Manor, Whitehall. She was the wife of Donald C. Poppe for 57 years.

Born in Carlisle, she was a daughter of Raymond William Fisher Sr. and the late Barbara Ann Elizabeth Laughman. She was raised by her Aunt Mary Mae and Uncle James Allen De Lancey.

She was a 1954 Carlisle High School graduate, where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She graduated from Shippensburg College.

She was a secretary for several years and a business education teacher at Parkland High School.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Deborah and her husband Dr. David Klink of Virginia; a son, Christopher Poppe and his wife Judith Pineiro of Brooklyn, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Adam Klink, Elyse Miller, Miranda Bonaguide and Sarah Poppe; and four great-grandchildren, Henry, Ayla, Noah and Everett.

She was predeceased by two brothers; and a stepbrother.
