Coplay Public Library: Curbside pickup is available; library to open doors June 29

Wednesday, June 24, 2020 by The Press in Columns

Coplay Public Library, 49 S. Fifth St., is now open for curbside pickup.

The library will remain closed to the public during the yellow phase, but the book drop is open to receive materials. The due dates for materials have been adjusted during the pandemic.

Take out materials, place holds and make requests directly on your account by using the library’s online catalog at coplaypubliclibrary.org, calling 610-262-7351 or emailing coplaypubliclibrary@gmail.com.

Checkouts are limited to five items per card at any time. When your items are ready for pickup, staff will call you. When you arrive at the library, call us from your car and your items will be brought out to you.

Curbside hours are noon-4 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, 2-7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Fridays and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturdays.

All returned materials will be quarantined for three days and sanitized before being released for circulation.

Lehigh County is expected to move to the green phase June 26. The library will reopen at 50-percent capacity for summer hours June 29.

Due to social distancing guidelines, there will only be two computer stations open for use. Library guests must wear a mask and sanitize their hands when entering the library.

Book club meetings are continuing. The next online Zoom meeting was scheduled 6-6:30 p.m. June 24 and the month’s reading choice was any fantasy novel.

Sign-in information will be posted on the library’s book club page for future dates.

Not a member? Do not worry. Just go to our regular Facebook page and select Groups, then request admission. We will invite you to be an official book club member!

For our younger patrons, storytime with Miss Janice will also be livestreamed on Facebook or Zoom. You can join her 11 a.m. every Thursday.

We will also have video links for you to watch later if you cannot make it.

Stay tuned for Summer Quest 2020: Imagine Your Story!

This year’s program will be entirely digital, so keep a look out for the sign-up link to go live on our web page and Facebook. We are including a lot of reading, coloring, scavenger hunts and other activities to make this summer program amazing.

Do not forget you can always use the Libby app or Overdrive to borrow books for your Nook, Kindle, computer or tablet. Just use your library card number and password to access the site.

More than 14,000 eBooks and audiobooks are available.

Staff hours for the remainder of the summer are 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday.
