A few weeks of summer vacation are left for the students in our community. Hopefully, a safe and enjoyable summer has been had by everyone thus far. If you have not visited the township pools, there is still time this season. We are so lucky to have our three great community pools. Take a dip and enjoy what is left of the summer.
Ladies, are you looking to learn more about the fabulous game of football? If so, you are in luck.
The Second Annual Whitehall Zephyr Football Moms Clinic will be held Saturday, Aug. 9, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Zephyr Football Stadium.
Coach Gilbert and his staff invite all moms, aunts, grandmothers and sisters to come and learn more about the game. This is your opportunity to meet the coaches and other moms and relatives of the football players and also learn a lot about the Whitehall Zephyr Football program.
Believe it or not, Daylight-saving time is coming to an end. This Saturday, Nov. 2, we turn our clocks back one hour before going to bed.
Be safe when walking or jogging after dinner in the evening since night will fall upon us earlier. Also, make sure you are visible to drivers by wearing light or reflective clothing.
Try to keep warm on those chilly autumn nights.
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5.
Although this is not a presidential election year, your vote is still very important.
Remember to do your civic duty and get out and vote.
If you are looking for something fun to do next weekend, plan on stopping by the Celtic Classic in nearby Bethlehem.
The festival runs from Sept. 27-29.
There will be highland games to watch and great musical entertainment, too. Also, interesting ethnic foods will be available for purchase.
The first day of autumn is fast approaching.
On Sept. 22, we will say goodbye to the summer. Enjoy the cooler, brisker weather we are having right now.

St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church of Stiles will hold its annual picnic Sunday, Sept. 1, from noon until 9 p.m. on the church grounds at Ruch and Chestnut streets.
A variety of food will be available, along with games of chance. Musical entertainment will be provided all day.
Stop by and bring your lawn chairs. This is a fun way to say farewell to summer with your friends from the community.
Good luck to all students who will be heading off to college, high school, grade school, kindergarten and preschool.
On Sunday, Aug. 4, St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church in Coplay will hold its annual picnic and homecoming noon-10 p.m. on the church grounds at Fifth and Coplay streets.
Plan to attend and interact with neighbors, friends and family from the community. You are certain to enjoy the wonderful musical entertainment provided and the delicious food fare.
Games of chance and fun for the kids will also be on hand.
This is always a fun celebration. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the festivities!
The autumn season begins this coming weekend.
Summer went by so fast!
At least we are now able to enjoy the sun as the days are cooler and more comfortable.
Have fun doing all the activities this season brings like planting mums, searching for the perfect pumpkin, drinking apple cider and raking all those leaves.
Come on out and support the Whitehall High School Zephyr Varsity Football team as they travel to Nazareth High School on Friday, Sept. 21, to take on the Blue Eagles.
Kick off is at 7 p.m.
