The Hokendauqua Park & Playground Association will hold its annual Easter egg hunt for the children of the Hokendauqua area 1 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at the Hokendauqua Park baseball field complex.
The rain date is Saturday, April 19.
Enter the baseball field complex on Lehigh Street, just under the Ironton Rail-Trail bridge that passes over Lehigh Street. Park in the lot next to the storage building or the pavilion building or along the creek.
St. Stephen's Food Bank, 3900 Mechanicsville Road, which supplies food to people in Whitehall Township, is in need of your food donations, especially as they are getting ready to prepare food baskets for Easter distributions. Donations can be dropped off any day at the church's office.
Indoor and outdoor spaces are still available for crafters at the May 3 Craft and Quilt Show and Sale at Faith Lutheran Church, 3355 MacArthur Road, Whitehall. The hours are 9 a.m.-3 p.m. For more information, call 610-262-7772.
In continuation of its Bob Warke–Dale Horn Scholarship Program, The Hokendauqua Park and Playground Association will be awarding two $1,000 scholarships
This year marks the 27th anniversary of the basketball tournament, whose proceeds are used to fund the scholarship awards.
Sunday, Sept. 1, will be an exciting day at Faith Lutheran Church, Whitehall. The congregation will be welcoming its 11th intern on that day.
Vicar Joshua Johnson will be starting his one-year internship at the church. Johnson, a native of North Carolina, is a student at Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in South Carolina. He will be working with Pastor Michael Bodnyk to gain practical experience in parish ministry.

The Hokendauqua Park & Playground Association extends warm holiday greetings to everyone.
The HPPA will again be sponsoring Operation Santa Claus during this holiday season.
Santa will begin his annual visit on Sunday, Dec. 16, starting at noon. In case of inclement weather, Santa will attempt to visit Saturday, Dec. 22, beginning at noon.
Once again, Santa's escort will be the Hokendauqua Fire Company, so if you hear the sirens, feel free to come out and say "hello" to Santa.
During the 10:30 a.m. worship service on Sunday, Nov. 18, the congregation of Faith Lutheran Church celebrated the Holy Baptism of Luke Thomas deJongh, the son of Robert and Kimberly (Kauth) deJongh. Kimberly is formerly from the Whitehall area, but the family now resides in Wilmington, Del.
A Miller-Keystone Bloodmobile visited Faith Lutheran on Nov. 12. Twenty three people were registered to give blood, and 20 units of blood were collected.
The next bloodmobile visit will be on Nov. 25. Call the church office at 610-435-0451 to select your choice of appointments.
During the worship services on Sunday, Nov. 4, at Faith Lutheran Church, several youth received their First Communion after getting instruction from Pastor Mike Bodnyk.
Those young people include Austin Bilious, Avery and Hailey Druckenmiller, Kayla Endy, Justin Mattison and Alexa Wechsler.
Joshua Prince also received instruction, but will receive his First Communion at a later date.
The annual fall craft fair and quilt sale will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 3355 MacArthur Road, this Saturday, Nov. 10, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Whitehall-Coplay AARP Chapter 5187 will meet at 1 p.m., on Tuesday, Oct. 16, at Faith Lutheran Church (lower level).
Members are asked to bring items for the Whitehall Food Bank.
New members and guests are always welcome.

Hokendauqua Park & Playground (HPPA) basketball registration for boys and girls will be held at the Hokey Legion on Front Street Tuesday, Sept. 11, Wednesday, Sept. 19, Tuesday, Sept. 25, and Tuesday, Oct. 9. The time for each night will be 6-8 p.m.
