St. John picnic set for Aug. 31

St. John the Baptist Church, Stiles, will be holding its annual church picnic, Sunday, Aug. 31, from noon-9 p.m.

The picnic is held on the church grounds located at Ruch and Chestnut streets.

Stop by for delicious food, entertainment and games.

Bring your lawn chairs and stay awhile.

The Great Allentown Fair will be held Tuesday, Aug. 26, through Monday, Sept. 1.

This is always a fun celebration at the end of summer.

Enjoy some delicious fair food, ride the rides, enjoy the entertainment and play some games.

The Whitehall Area Chamber of Commerce has announced the schedule of events for August and September.

Thursday, Aug. 14 – 11:45 a.m., Membership luncheon: "The Future of the Lehigh Valley" presented by Becky Bradley, executive director, Lehigh Valley Planning Commission.

Friday, Aug. 15 – noon, Lunch and learn: "What Is a Public Adjuster and When Do You Need To Call One?" presented by Metro Public Adjustment Inc., at the WACC office.

There are still two more days for children ages 3 through fifth grade to attend Whitehall Bible Fellowship Church's Weird Animals vacation Bible school: Thursday Aug. 14 and Friday, Aug. 15, from 6:15- 8:15 p.m.

The event is free, and parents can register their child by calling the church at 610-434-8661 or going online at www.lehighbible.com.

Weird Animals is a high-energy, faith-building event that shows kids Jesus' unconditional love.

Vendor fair set at Egypt church

The Egypt Community Church is hosting a Fall Holiday Shop vendor fair 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6.

The church is located at 4129 S. Church St., Whitehall.

The Miller-Keystone Memorial Bloodmobile will be on the premises for those that want to donate blood. Call Sharon Shaver at 610-837-4229 for information.

Moms invited to learn all about the game of football

Ladies, are you looking to learn more about the fabulous game of football? If so, you are in luck.

The Second Annual Whitehall Zephyr Football Moms Clinic will be held Saturday, Aug. 9, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Zephyr Football Stadium.

Coach Gilbert and his staff invite all moms, aunts, grandmothers and sisters to come and learn more about the game. This is your opportunity to meet the coaches and other moms and relatives of the football players and also learn a lot about the Whitehall Zephyr Football program.
