The Egypt Memorial Park is having a car wash at the playground 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, May 10. Come on down and support our baseball and softball program. Donations will be accepted to have your car, van or truck made to sparkle. St. John's United Church of Christ, 575 Grape St., Whitehall, under the ministries of Pastor Becky Beckwith, is currently preparing and organizing their second annual community celebration on June 8.
The community will be invited to the free event with lots of family fun being planned.
This year's theme will be "Hometown Heroes," and this year's event will benefit homeless shelters and soup kitchens.
Any donations and offerings for the day will benefit that mission.
The committee is currently looking for donations to support the event.
The Whitehall Zephyr Football Team will be holding their Annual golf classic May 17. All proceeds go directly toward the Whitehall High School Football Team.
The tournament is a four-man scramble with a shotgun start and will be played at Willow Brook Golf Course in Catasauqua.
The tournament begins at 9 a.m.
The tournament entry fee per golfer includes a catered picnic lunch and beverages, along with a hot dog and beverage after the ninth hole.
Shepherd of the Hills Youth Group will be hosting a penny party on Sunday, May 4. Doors open at 1, and the party starts at 2 p.m. Come out and support the youth as they begin preparations for their trip to Detroit, MI for the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America Youth Gathering in July 2015.

The day begins 10 a.m. with a parade down Main Street in Egypt, then three bands will perform live music until 10 p.m. at the park.
Boy Scout Troop 79, based out of St. John the Baptist Church, Stiles, is currently holding their annual Easter Flower Sale at Ruffenach Hall on the church grounds located at Ruch and Chestnut streets.
The sale goes until this Saturday.
The Scouts always have a healthy and beautiful selection of fragrant flowers available to help make someone's Easter brighter.

The Hokendauqua Park & Playground Association will hold its annual Easter egg hunt for the children of the Hokendauqua area 1 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at the Hokendauqua Park baseball field complex.
The rain date is Saturday, April 19.
Enter the baseball field complex on Lehigh Street, just under the Ironton Rail-Trail bridge that passes over Lehigh Street. Park in the lot next to the storage building or the pavilion building or along the creek.
Egypt Community Church, 4129 South Church St., will be hosting a spaghetti dinner and Chinese auction 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, April 12. The cost of the meal will include beverages and dessert. There is a discount for seniors (60+). Tickets can be purchased at the door. Takeout orders will also be available. Proceeds from this fundraising dinner will benefit the church's many missions.
