St. John the Baptist Church in Stiles is holding its annual church picnic Sunday, Sept. 6, noon-9 p.m.
The picnic will be held on the church grounds, located on Ruch and Chestnut streets.
There are always delicious food selections to feast on.
Musical entertainment and games will make for a very enjoyable day. Bring your lawn chairs so you can sit down, relax and listen to the music.
This is always a nice end-of-summer celebration, and you are certain to run into neighbors and friends from the community too.
We would like to say a big thank you to all of the adults and kids who made our summer reading program so great this year.
We had 238 kids and 34 adults complete the program and have a great time this summer at the library.
The summer may be over, but there are still plenty of fun programs for all ages to attend.
There will be a teen book talk Tuesday, Aug. 25, 1:30-3 p.m.
We will be discussing "And Then There Were None" by Agatha Christie and "The Call of the Wild" by Jack London.
St. John's United Church of Christ, 575 Grape St., will host a vendor fair Saturday, Aug. 22, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. The event will be held indoors.
Join in for a day of shopping. Vendors include makeup, kitchenware, jewelry, food, bags, cleaning, skin care and many others.
There will be lots of homemade crafts including artwork, photography, woodworking and more. There will be a Chinese auction, 50/50 raffle, bake sale and more. Proceeds support the youth group's summer mission trip and national youth event in Orlando, Fla., in 2016. For more information, call 610-264-8421.
Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3355 MacArthur Road, will hold its seventh annual Wheels of Faith car show and craft fair on Saturday, Aug. 15, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
The rain date is Aug. 16.
Antique cars, vendors and a deejay are some of this event's features.
An Iron Chef breakfast will be served after the 9 a.m. service on Sunday, Aug.t 23 at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church. There will be a free-will offering.

A big "thank you" from the Stiles community to all workers and volunteers in the township who have cleaned up the Ironton Rail Trail after the violent storm. The trail is passable and cleared of debris, and those who frequent the trail are so grateful. Great job!
The summer of 2015 is flying by! As college students shop to furnish their new dorm rooms and other students go shopping for uniforms, clothes and supplies, we still have some summer vacation time in August in which to have fun!
Our summer reading program may be over, but there is still lots going on at the library.
Tonight, Aug. 6, "Damn Dutch!," a Civil War program with John Moyer Jr. and friends is set for 7 p.m. The program is about German Americans and the Civil War and is designed to delight, educate and entertain.
It will feature period music from Moyer, a 13-year veteran of Civil War living history and reenactments.
Those helping with the program include Rich Pauling, Joe Erce, Ethan Green, Henry Green II and Henry Green III.
It's time for our annual Family Fun Fest, set for Saturday, Aug. 8, 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m.
Tootsie will perform noon-1:30 p.m. with magic tricks, silly songs and balloon sculptures.
Free face painting will also be offered.
All summer reading program participants who get their certificates will receive a coupon for a free hot dog, and any child with a Coplay library card will receive a free Rita's Italian Ice.
