The Whitehall Township Public Library is having a Basket Silent Auction Fall Fundraiser this week and it will end at noon on Saturday, Sept. 27.
Bidding will run through noon Saturday, Sept. 27. The winner need not be present to win but must pay in cash or by check by Saturday, Oct. 4, to claim the basket or the prize reverts to the next highest bidder.
Patrons can register at the front desk and receive a bid number and a copy of the rules. Patron must be 18 years or older to participate.
The Hokendauqua Fall Festival began yesterday and continues through Saturday, Sept. 27.
Some of the activities scheduled include live music by "Dirty on Sunday" 7-10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, a motorcycle ride and show Saturday, Sept. 27, and free activities for kids each day.

Over 300 prizes will be offered at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church Gigantic Basket Party. The event will be held 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, at the church, 410 S. Church St., Whitehall. Winning tickets will be drawn 2 p.m. Sept. 28.
The kitchen will be serving homemade foods and baked goods. Tickets for bidding on the prizes are available at the door. Bidders do not have to be present at the drawing.

Served will be people snacks as well as snacks for dogs and cats. There will also be a photo session if you would like a photo of your pet or one of you with your pet. The photo will be sent to you via email and will be posted on St. John's Facebook page if allowed.
The Egypt Memorial Park will be holding sign-ups 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, at the park, for the newly formed Egypt Venom Step Dance Team. Check out the website at egyptpark.org for more details about this exciting youth program.

Becky Bradley, executive director of the Lehigh Valley Planning Commission, addressed a crowd of more than 50 business people at the WACC August luncheon at Fellowship Community's new Zentz Center.
She shared a wide variety of valuable and encouraging information for businesses in the Whitehall area. The population of the Lehigh Valley has been growing by 1 percent each year for more than 30 years and one in four people is going to be older than 60 in the next five years.
The Stiles Playground Association is currently conducting a fundraiser selling Charlie K's Pizza Kits.
We are so lucky to have a beautiful playground with basketball and tennis courts in our community. Your support in fundraisers helps the association maintain the playground. Plus, this is a great way to be ready for a quick dinner for the family.
