The Cementon Athletic Playground Association (CAPA) invites the public to its regular monthly meeting, which will be held 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, in the rental building at the playground.
The organization has a specific agenda that is covered at every meeting. Quite a few new ideas are currently being discussed and planned, including a breakfast with Santa, a new December fundraiser for the basketball program and a Hit-A-Thon, a new fundraiser in April for the baseball program. Faith Lutheran Church, 3355 MacArthur Road, will hold its fall craft fair and quilt sale 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9.
On Sunday, Nov. 10, from 7 a.m. to noon, the Hokendauqua American Legion, 739 American Legion Drive, is holding its annual breakfast, bake sale and blood drive.
The blood drive takes place 8 a.m.-1 p.m. in the parking lot. Walk-ins are encouraged. Proper identification is required.
Proceeds from the breakfast will be donated to several veterans organizations in the area.
Fullerton Playground, 901 Jefferson St., Whitehall, will hold a children's toy bingo Sunday, Nov. 10.
Doors open at noon and games begin at 1 p.m. to benefit the Fullerton baseball and softball programs.

Fullerton American Legion Post Unit 367 will hold a potato filling sale at the post home, Fullerton Avenue and Wood Street, for Thanksgiving.
The deadline for orders is Nov. 18.
Pick-up dates and times are 2-6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25, and Tuesday Nov. 26 at the post home.
Believe it or not, Daylight-saving time is coming to an end. This Saturday, Nov. 2, we turn our clocks back one hour before going to bed.
Be safe when walking or jogging after dinner in the evening since night will fall upon us earlier. Also, make sure you are visible to drivers by wearing light or reflective clothing.
Try to keep warm on those chilly autumn nights.
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5.
Although this is not a presidential election year, your vote is still very important.
Remember to do your civic duty and get out and vote.
Mark your calendar for the Laurel Fire Company's annual meat raffle 2-6 p.m. Nov. 10.

The Whitehall High School Baseball Team Booster Club will host Oktoberfest 6-11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at Commitment to Family and Community on Cherry Street, Coplay.
Those 21 and older will enjoy dinner, drinks and deejay entertainment with hits from the 1980s. There is a cost.
Proceeds from the event will help defray costs to allow the baseball team to travel to Myrtle Beach in March and cover other expenses that arise throughout the season.

The pet blessings will take place in Parker Hall, in the lower level of the church.

The Whitehall Food Pantry, located at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church on Mechanicsville Road, is continually in need of food donations, and will need more, especially as volunteers begin preparing to assemble Thanksgiving food baskets.
Egypt Community Church, 4129 South Church St., will be hosting an all-you-can-eat ham dinner and Chinese auction 4:30-6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19.
The cost of the meal will include beverages and dessert. Tickets can be purchased at the door. Takeout orders will also be available. Proceeds from the fundraising dinner will benefit the church's missions. Call 610-262-4961 for ticket costs and more information.

Stiles residents, mark your calendars.
The annual Coplay Halloween Parade will take place starting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15.
This is always a fun community event where you are able to meet and greet your friends and neighbors and support the participants in the parade.
Stiles residents can simply take a quick walk into Coplay to enjoy this event.
As usual, the parade route starts at Ninth and Chestnut streets and ends at Fifth and Hokendauqua streets.
