Wayne S. Dech, 86, of Bethlehem and formerly of Whitehall, died July 7, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital and Health Network, Bethlehem. He was the husband of the late Myrl E. (Prong) Dech.
Born in Hellertown, he was a son of the late Wayne S. Sr. and Alice (Keifer) Dech.
He was a private first class in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Martin P. Oswald, 50, of Coplay, died June 27 at home. He was the husband of Louisa M. (Petrich) Oswald for 30 years. He was a son of the late Paul and Agnes (Schelly) Oswald.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Timothy of Whitehall; a daughter, Holly of Slatedale; a grandson, Skylar; brothers; and sisters.

Brian K. Buchman, 49, of Catasauqua, died July 1, 2013, at his residence.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of Theodore and Frances (Moyer) Buchman.
He worked in photo processing for John Pittman Photography.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a son, Scott; two brothers, Terry and Eric Buchman; a sister, Kathy and her husband John Kershner of Kansas; aunts; uncles; nieces; and nephews.

John "Reds" C. Schleder, 85, of Coplay, died July 5, 2013, at his residence under the care of Arcadia Hospice. He was the husband of Carol (Anthony) Schleder for 50 years.
Born in Coplay, he was a son of the late Stephen and Anna (Wechsler) Schleder.
He was a 1946 graduate of Coplay High School.
He was in the U.S. Navy for two years.
He worked for Lucent Technologies until he retired in 1989. He had also worked for Tarkett and General Electric.
Josephine A. Ebert, 87, of Northampton, died June 13, 2013, in ManorCare, Bethlehem.
Born in Sheidys, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Bertha (Harakal) Rechtor.
She was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Northampton.
Harold "Al" Azar, 91, died at his home in Coplay on June 24, 2013. He was the husband of Miriam "Irish" (Litzenberger) Azar. The couple celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary July 25, 2012.
He was the son of the late Shahod and Adelia Azar.
A proud World War II Army veteran, he was a staff sergeant in the 99th Infantry serving in the Battle of the Bulge.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 426, Coplay.
Retiring in 1986, he was a machinist for Phoenix Forging for 40 years.
An avid sports fan, he enjoyed watching his beloved Eagles and Phillies.
Olive M. Ritter, 95, of Whitehall and formerly of Coplay, died June 22, 2013, in Whitehall ManorCare. She was the wife of the late Alfred Groller and of the late LeRoy Ritter.
Born in West Catasauqua, she was a daughter of the late Edgar and Anna (Ebert) Butz.
She was a sewing machine operator.
She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Whitehall.
She volunteered at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg.
Robert V. Boettger, 75, of Allentown and formerly of West Catasauqua, died June 25, 2013, at Lehigh Valley Hospice, Allentown. He was the husband of Elizabeth (Nemeth) Boettger for 23 years.
Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Harry W. and Sophie M. (Krafisch) Boettger.
He was a machine operator at both the Fairtex and Wrights Textiles mills.
He was a member of St. Mary's Church, Catasauqua.
He was a former member of the Catasauqua Moose Lodge.
Eileen W. Rex, 71, of Bath, died June 13, 2013. She was the wife of Burnell Rex for 50 years.
Born in Bath, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Elsie (Wagner) Spengler.
She graduated from Kutztown University with a bachelor's degree in education.
She was a member of Emmanuel's Lutheran Church, Bath.
Edward F. Hobel, 80, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., died June 22, 2013, at Broward Hospital.
Born in Coplay, he was the son of the late Edward and Margaret (Wiessner) Hobel.
He was in the U.S. Air Force. He was a radio specialist and was a Korean War veteran.
A licensed roofing contractor, he owned Ed Hobel Roofing in Florida and, before that, Acker Roofing, Allentown.
He was a member of the Pompano, Fla., Elks. He was known to have scored perfect 300 games.
