Dorothy F. Schwartz, 89, died Oct. 20, 2012, at Country Meadows, Upper Macungie. She was the wife of the late Louis S. Schwartz.

Born in Holtville, Calif., she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Louise (Depopi) Destray.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Egypt.

She is survived by three daughters, Dorothy M. and her husband Raymond Mudrick of Macungie, Mary A. Schwartz of Allentown, and Catherine L. Byron Reed of New Tripoli; a son, Louis S. and his wife Lori Schwartz of Northampton; a brother, Walter Destray of Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Stanisla R. Tait, 81, formerly of Coplay, died Oct. 23, 2012, at the Phoebe Home, Allentown. She was married to the late William T. Tait.

Born in Coplay, she was the daughter of the late Frank R. and Mary (Burits) Mondschein.

She was a member of St. Peter R.C. Church, Coplay.

Survivors include a daughter, Donna M. wife of Richard Fox of Whitehall; grandson, Zachary; brothers, Raymond and Peter Mondschein; sisters, Helen Mondschein and Rose Guzdzial.

She was predeceased by siblings, Frank, John, Joseph, William, George, Alfred, Mary, Emma and Theresa.

Richard W.M. Gerstenberg , 62, of Bethlehem, died Oct. 1, 2012, in his home. He was the husband of Teresa (Micklo) Gerstenberg for 28 years.

Born in Fountain Hill, he was the son of Carrie (Miller) Gerstenberg of Bethlehem and the late Stanley W. Gerstenberg.

He was in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.

He was employed by the Bethlehem Steel Company and later by Bon-Ton.

He was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Bethlehem.

He belonged to the VFW Post 4714, Northampton.

Alfred "Fritz" J. Mondschein, 84, of Coplay, died Oct. 20, 2012, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Elsie E. (Domitrovits) Mondschein for 55 years.

Born in Coplay, he was a son of the late Frank and Mary (Burits) Mondschein.

He was a 1946 graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School.

He was a Korean War Navy veteran.

He was a lab technician for the former Bethlehem Steel at the Homer Research Labs. He was a former Borough of Coplay mayor.

He was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Coplay.

Born in Egypt, she was a daughter of the late Wasyl and Kathryn Gulkewicz.

She worked at the former Cross Country Clothes for 49 years.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Northampton,

She is survived by two sons, Kevin and his wife Ann of Northampton and Keith and his wife Carey of Whitehall; four grandchildren, Erik, Ryan, Drew and Nolan; nieces; and nephews.

She was a member of Queenship of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Northampton, where she sang on the choir for many years.

Edward "Ed" M. Haines, 51, of Walnutport, died Oct. 12, 2012, as the result of a work accident. He was the husband of Vicky V. (Wambold) Haines for 30 years.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of Gerald and Joyce (Miller) Haines of Northampton.

He was a heavy equipment mechanic for Plasterer Equipment, Bethlehem, for the past 28 years.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by a daughter, Angela V. Haines and her son Joshua M. of Danielsville; and a sister, Terri Behler of Bethlehem.

He was predeceased by a brother, Thomas G. Haines.

Kathleen C. Kraynek, 83, of Catasauqua, died Sept. 24, 2012, at Whitehall Manor. She was the wife of George R. Kraynek Sr. of Catasauqua for 63 years.

Born in Catasauqua, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Frances (Yost) Pascoe.

She was a 1947 graduate of Catasauqua High School.

She retired in 1984 after 22 years of service from Western Electric/AT&T.

She was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Catasauqua.

Richard E. Schoemaker, 80, of Northampton, died Sept. 18, 2012, in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Dolores B. (Cesanek) Schoemaker for 56 years.

Born in Orefield, he was the son of the late Walter and Verna (Miller) Schoemaker.

He retired in 1992 from the Bethlehem Steel Corporation, where he had been a crane operator in Saucon Shipping.

He was a member of Queenship of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Northampton.
