Miriam M. Borger, 91, formerly of Pennsville, died Sept. 19, 2018, in Danielsville. She was the wife of the late Ernest W. Borger.

Born in Northampton, she was a daughter of the late Paul J. and Mabel I. (Frederick) Miller.

She was a 1945 graduate of Northampton High School.

She was an ice cream packer for Lehigh Valley Dairy, Allentown, for 40 years until she retired in 1985.

She was a member of Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church, Cherryville.

Eugene Dieter, 83, of Whitehall, died Sept. 18, 2018. He was the husband of Carol Ann Dieter.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Dawn; three sons, Gene (Karen), Michael (Jill) and Tony (Charlie); four grandchildren, TJ, Jaimie, Emily and Andrew; a great-grandchild, Skylar; and a son-in-law, Tom Zellers. He was predeceased by two daughters, Christi and Angele.

Services will be private.

Arrangements were made by Gilbert Funeral Home Inc., Whitehall.

Betty L. Gombotsh, 87, of Coplay, died Sept. 10, 2018, at Whitehall Manor. She was the wife of the late Frank A. Gombotsh.

Born in Bath, she was a daughter of the late John Bogarosh and the late Daisy (Druckenmiller) Bogarosh.

She was a dietary aide for 20 years with the Wood Company at Fellowship Manor, Whitehall, until she retired in 2009. Before that, she was, for 23 years, the first female forklift operator at the former Capital Records, Bethlehem.

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Coplay.

She was active in many local senior organizations.

Harry E. Weller

Harry E. Weller, 82, of Coplay, died Sept. 12, 2018, at Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Allentown.

Born in Bechtelsville, he was the son of the late Victor and Edith (Young) Weller.

He was self employed as a truck driver for many years.

He was a fun, loving guy who enjoyed telling jokes, dancing and country music.

He is survived by two daughters, Peggy Nye of Coplay and Betty and her husband Michael Hockman of Whitehall; a son, David of Birdsboro; a brother Lloyd of Boyertown; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, Russell.

Stephen M. Toth, 77, of Northampton, died Sept. 16, 2018, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Kathleen H. (White) Toth for 55 years.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Stephen Toth and the late Anna (Kost) Toth.

He was the owner for 57 years of Stephen M. Toth Auto Sales and Service Center, Main Street, Northampton, since 1961.

He was of the Catholic faith.

Frank L. Spitzer, 90, of Northampton, died Sept. 17, 2018, at Holy Family Manor. He was the husband of Theresa (Lang) Spitzer for 68 years.

Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late Frank and Anna (Muller) Spitzer.

He was a supervisor in the finishing department at Modern Clothing until retiring.

He was a member of Queenship of Mary Catholic Church, where he sang on the choir for 60 years.

Anna M. Sorinsky, 96, of Whitehall, died Sept. 7, 2018, at Phoebe. She was the wife of the late Joseph Sorinsky.

Born in Northampton, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Samu) Stubits.

She was a longtime bench hand and inspector at Lucent Technologies, formerly Western Electric, until she retired in 1985.

She is survived by a daughter, Karen and her husband Joseph Pelc; two grandsons, Christopher and his wife Catherine and Eric; two great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Jackson; and a sister, Theresa Stubits.

John J. Senchak Jr.

John J. Senchak Jr., 73, of Whitehall, died Sept. 16, 2018, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. He was the husband of Gloria J. (Broadhead) Senchak for 32 years.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late John J. Sr. and Helen (Anderko) Senchak.

He was a 1963 graduate of Dieruff High School.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, serving as a boatswain’s mate on the USS Telfair.

He was a nurse’s tech for 19 years for Lehigh Valley Hospital before he retired. Before that, he was a printer in the office and plant of Western Union for 20 years.

John W. Binder, 79, of Jim Thorpe and formerly of Coplay, died Sept. 15, 2018, at home. He was the husband of Dianne D. (Frable) Binder for 19 years.

Born in Coplay, he was a son of the late Joseph Binder and Mary Binder Tomol.

He was the former owner of Binnie’s Dog House, Coplay. Before that, he was a manager for the former Johnson Motor Lines, Allentown, for over 20 years.
