Caroline S. Harlacher, 93, died Feb. 23, 2019, at Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Bethlehem. She was the wife of the late John “Doc” Harlacher.

Born in Stiles, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Feichtl) Illigash.

She was a member of St. Thomas More Church, Allentown, where she was involved with the Prime Time Club.

She was a member of the Young At Heart group at the former St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, North Catasauqua.

Blodwyn “Winnie” E. Wetherhold, 90, of Fullerton and North Catasauqua, died Feb. 21, 2019, in her son’s home. She was the wife of the late Donald ‘’Ducky’’ T. Wetherhold for 45 years.

Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Margaret (Llewellyn) Gyer.

She was a 1946 honor graduate of Whitehall High School.

Joseph L. Tognoli, 79, of North Catasauqua, died Feb. 18, 2019. He was the husband of Sylvia (Yale) Tognoli for 57 years.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Joseph L. and Margaret (Molchany) Tognoli.

He was in the Army and Army Reserves Oct. 1960-July 1966.

He and his wife owned and operated Julie’s Restaurant, Allentown. He was later an employee at Mack Trucks until his retirement.

Robert L. Toth, 86, of Coplay, died Feb. 21, 2019. He was the husband of the late Helene S. (Hilferty) Toth for 55 years.

Born in Coplay, he was a son of the late George and Bertha (Yost) Toth.

He was in the Korean War.

He was a supervisor at Mack Trucks until he retired after more than 35 years of service. He earned a professional movie projectionist license and showed movies at the Ritz Theater, Coplay, for many years.

Gladys E. Shaffer, 95, formerly of Whitehall, died Feb. 20, 2019. She was the wife of the late Dale D. Shaffer for 22 years.

Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Anna (Peacock) Ernst.

She was an executive secretary for Verizon, formerly Bell Telephone, for more than 43 years.

She was a former officer of the Telephone Pioneers of America.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Eleanor Ernst of Hellertown; nieces; nephews; and extended family.

David “Flyman” J. Tapler

David “Flyman” J. Tapler, 66, of Palmerton, died Feb. 19, 2019, at Lehigh Valley Hospital after a battle with cancer. He was the companion of Jewel Bertuzzi for 16 years.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late John and Rose (Bodish) Tapler.

He was a 1971 graduate of Central Catholic High School.

He was employed in sales for the former Pleoa for many years before retiring.

He was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Coplay.

He was an avid fly fisherman and a member of Trout Unlimited.

Born in Catasauqua, she was a daughter of the late Paul G.D. and Catherine (Schwindenhammer) Seyfried.

She worked as a picker for the former Cann’s Fabrics, Catasauqua, for eight years.

Marjorie M. Clarke, 95, of Allentown, died Feb. 19, 2019, at St. Luke’s Hospice House. She was the wife of the late Harry E. Clarke.

Born in Coplay, she was a daughter of the late Martin and Helen (Hopkins) Krause.

She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Spagnoletti; four sons, Gary, Terry, Randy and Barry; a brother, James Krause; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.

She was predeceased by four sons, Donald, Dennis, Jimmy and Michael; a sister; and five brothers.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Lillian Binder, 83, of Coplay, died Feb. 22, 2019, at St. Luke’s Hospice House after a battle with cancer. She was the wife of Alfred Binder for 60 years.

Born in Northampton, she was a daughter of the late Reinhart and Anna (Rosner) Marakovits.

She was a wedding and banquets coordinator at the St. Joe’s, Northampton.

She was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Coplay, where she was an Eucharistic minister. She made pierogies.

Michael “ Bubba” Wade Drayer

Michael “Bubba” Wade Drayer, 34, of Catasauqua and formerly of Hershey, died Feb. 13, 2019.

He was the son of Roger and Roberta Drayer and was a stepson of Tara Drayer.

He graduated from Catasauqua High School.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Jesse and his wife Carrie; and two sisters, Melissa and Megan.
