Hildegard A. Bothner, 89, died Dec. 19, 2019, at Cedarbrook, Fountain Hill.
Born in Germany, she moved to Pennsylvania as a young woman.
She was the owner and operator of the former Nomad Travel Services, Whitehall, for many years before retiring.
She is survived by a goddaughter and many friends.

Joseph A. Alban III, 64, of Whitehall, died Dec. 16, 2019, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. He was the husband of Susan (Schlogl) Alban for 20 years.
Born in Rutland, Vt., he was a son of Joseph and the late Frances I. Alban.
He was a construction manager for 40 years.
He was an assistant chief and training officer for Whitehall Township Fire Department.
Betty L. Wuchter, 89, of Whitehall and formerly of Northampton, died Dec. 19, 2019. She was the wife of the late Earl C. Wuchter.
Born in Northampton, she was the daughter of the late Samuel G. and Emily R. (Focht) Danner.
She was a member of Zion’s Stone United Church of Christ, Northampton.
She is survived by three children, Karen A. Miranda and her husband Robert, with whom she resided, Glenn A. Wuchter and his wife Tobi of Maine and Keith A. Wuchter and his wife Sheila of Ohio; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
Services will be private.
Jeffrey H. Russ, 77, of Allentown and formerly of Phillipsburg, N.J., died Dec. 9, 2019, in Lehigh Valley Hospice. He was the husband of Janice (Ahart) Russ for 54 years.
Born in Bridgeton, N.J., he was a son of the late Erwin and Gladys (Miller) Russ.
He was in the U.S. Navy.
He was a bartender and owned E. Goepp Street Saloon, Bethlehem, and Fossil’s Last Stand, Catasauqua.
He was a member of Sts. Philip and James Catholic Church, Phillipsburg, N.J.
Charles B. May, 98, of Northampton, died Dec. 13, 2019, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. He was the husband of Mary (Black) Schmidt-May for 24 years.
Born in Corry, he was a son of the late Orville and Daisy (Bell) May.
He was in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
He was a system analyst for IBM for more than 45 years. He was a security officer at Daytona Speedway for many years.
He was a member of Valley View Baptist Church, Northampton, where he volunteered for many functions.
David Paul Kemp, 55, of Wescosville, died Dec. 5, 2019, in his home. He was the longtime companion of Lisa Morris.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of Judith (Paxson) Reddekopp and her husband Thomas of Columbia, S.C., and Irvin Kemp Jr. and his wife Madelyn of Northampton.
He was a 1981 graduate of Dieruff High School. He worked at National Auto for many years.
In addition to his parents and companion, he is survived by a son, Troy, at home; a brother, Paul of Easton; a stepbrother, Stephen Kromer of Walnutport; a niece; and nephews.
Stella Mary Fried, 89, of Allentown, died Nov. 12, 2019, in her home. She was the wife of the late Robert Daniel Fried.
Born in Coplay, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Mary (Steltzer) Gasper.
She was a member of Cathedral of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Allentown.
She was a seamstress for Modern Clothing and retired in 1985.
Francis Holena, 89, of Stiles and of Nazareth, died Dec. 10, 2019. He was the husband of the late Rose Marie (Berner) Holena and the longtime companion of Janice Gurgick.
Born in North Catasauqua, he was a son of the late Joseph and Anna (Marakovits) Holena.
He was in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean conflict.
He worked at Phoenix Forging Company, Catasauqua, for 42 years.
He is survived by a son, Louis and his wife Tracie; a grandson, Jaryd; a sister, Joanne Kraynick; nieces; and nephews.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Albert and Joseph.
Margaret “Peggy” M. Bartholomew, 95, formerly of Fullerton, died Dec. 13, 2019. She was the wife of the late Harold A. Bartholomew for 62 years.
Born in Vera Cruz, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna (Yureck) Balascak.
She was a 1942 Emmaus High School graduate.
She was a longtime sales associate at Hess’s, downtown Allentown.

Shirley A. McBride, 82, of Allentown, died Dec. 10, 2019, in The Gardens at Easton Nursing Home. She was the wife of James C. McBride for 61 years.
Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Curtis S. and Anna (Kincaid) Stephen.
She was a William Allen High School graduate.
She worked in microfilm for Penn Treaty Insurance Company until she retired in 2009.
She is survived by a brother, Curtis K. Stephen; nieces; nephews; great-nieces; and great-nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Mack.
