A domestic dispute between a male and a female occurred in the 1400 block of Railroad Street.

Lawsuit is filed against township, police

Teens allege ‘unreasonable’ force used during basketball game incident

A lawsuit was filed in federal court June 5 alleging police officers used “disproportionate and unreasonable” force on a group of teenagers during a January basketball game at Whitehall High School.

The teenagers, along with their parents, are suing Whitehall Township and several Whitehall police officers, including Chief Michael Marks, according to the report.

Catasauqua man dies after crash

A Catasauqua man died after a one-vehicle crash June 4 in Whitehall Township.

According to Lehigh County Coroner Eric D. Minnich, Jeffrey Fletcher, 71, was the operator of a vehicle that veered off the roadway into a wooded area around the 800 block of Sumner Avenue. Fletcher’s vehicle struck several trees.

The crash occurred approximately 10 p.m. Fletcher died nearly two hours later at St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown.

Minnich said he died of blunt force trauma complicating multifactorial cardiovascular disease. He ruled the death an accident.
