A hit and run in the 300 block of Grove Street brought police to the scene.

JULY 8

An abandoned vehicle was tagged in the 300 block of High Street. The owner will remove the vehicle, the department said.

In the 700 block of Race Street, a dog was found then reunited with its owner.

Police assisted at the scene of a minor chlorine exposure in the 300 block of Bridge Street.

Metal was reported stolen in the 100 block of Union Street.

Officers assisted North Catasauqua officers in the 1000 block of Howertown Road.

Youngsters attend Junior Emergency Responder Academy

North Whitehall emergency service volunteers recently gave a bit more of their time to show township youngsters what it is like to be a volunteer firefighter, EMT or police officer.

The kids and the volunteers attended a four-day camp called the Junior Emergency Responder Academy.

Campers participated in a skill challenge June 28, the last day of camp to demonstrate all the skills they learned, including CPR and how to operate a fire hose.

A report of criminal mischief at Lehigh Valley Mall brought police to the scene.

Officers investigated the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle in the 3000 block of MacArthur Road.

Police investigated a hit-and-run accident in the 300 block of East 10th Street. A legally parked vehicle was struck, damaging the rear driver-side fender, tire and rim.

In the 1300 block of Main Street, a domestic dispute between a male and a female was investigated.

Catasauqua man dies in Hanover crash

Victor J. Sobrado, 40, of Catasauqua, was killed in a car crash July 12, according to a report from Pennsylvania State Police Troop M, Bethlehem.

The incident happened approximately 11:50 p.m. on North Dauphin Street, south of North Irving Street, in Hanover Township, Lehigh County.
