Police were on the scene of a sounding carbon monoxide alarm on South Second Street.

Officers investigated a report of suspicious people, possibly carrying spray paint, on the Ironton Rail Trail.

Three crashes in two hours; one person has died

Whitehall Township police responded to three vehicle accidents in a span of two hours May 18. One person has died, according to the police report, and multiple people were transported to area hospitals for treatment of injuries.

The first crash occurred 2:20 p.m. at MacArthur Road and American Street. Two vehicles were involved, according to a report released by Lt. Gregory Bealer, one traveling south on MacArthur Road and the other traveling east on American Street. Two people were taken to St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill.

Bealer said one person died at the hospital.
