JUNE 2

Police were on the scene of an assault in the area of Sixth and Chapel streets.

Domestic calls in the 1200 block of Howertown Road were investigated.

A DUI involving a wanted person at Second and Eugene streets had officers on the scene.

The department responded to a hit and run in the 1100 block of Howertown Road.

Police assisted a citizen in the 1100 block of Third Street.

Officers performed a welfare check in the 1000 block of Railroad Street.

MAY 25

In the 200 block of Edward Lane, police sought information regarding a domestic situation.

A driver was cited and the vehicle towed in the 100 block of Race Street.

Four drivers were cited in the 200 block of Race Street, police said.

Persons were advised to stay away from each other in the 400 block of Limestone Street.

Police responded to a noise complaint in the 100 block of Bridge Street. The person sitting outside was advised to keep the noise down.

MAY 24

A hit-and-run accident in the 1700 block of Main Street was investigated. A legally parked vehicle was struck, damaging the driver-side mirror.

Police said a female causing a disturbance occurred in the 2300 block of Washington Avenue.

A vehicle that was blocking the lane of travel was towed in the 1800 block of Osbourne Alley.

In the 900 block of Main Street, criminal mischief took place. The front door of a residence was damaged, the report said.

The department received a report of an intoxicated male in the 100 block of East 16th Street.

MAY 18

A male harassing another male and a female in the 1600 block of Lincoln Avenue was reported.

Police investigated criminal mischief in the 2600 block of Cherryville Road. A legally parked vehicle was pushed forward 15 feet by another vehicle, causing damage to the rear passenger taillight and rear bumper. The passenger side front and rear tires were flattened.

A domestic dispute between a husband and wife occurred in the 600 block of Bath Avenue.

A juvenile was acting out in the 400 block of Race Street.

In the 200 block of Race Street, a traffic citation was issued.

Police assisted North Catasauqua officers on Second Street during a DUI stop.

A mental health commitment call in the 200 block of Church Street was investigated.

A fight between patients occurred at Pyramid Healthcare, 124 Bridge St.

A suspicious vehicle in the 2100 block of Columbia Avenue was reported.

Procanyn retires from position as Lehigh County detective

Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin has announced the retirement of long-serving law enforcement officer Gerald P. Procanyn, who retired from his position as a Lehigh County detective effective May 17.

Procanyn has served in that capacity since April 28, 2003. While employed in the district attorney’s office, Procanyn primarily worked as an investigator for cases brought before the grand jury.

Whitehall man dies in crash

A Whitehall man died in a weekend motorcycle crash on South Church Street in the township.

According to Lehigh County Deputy Coroner Gabrielle Riley, Ricky D. Steigerwalt Sr., 61, was pronounced dead 12:51 a.m. June 2 and died from multiple blunt force trauma. The crash, which occurred approximately 11:45 p.m. June 1, was ruled an accident, Riley said.

Steigerwalt was the operator of a motorcycle that struck a utility pole in the 4300 block of South Church Street.

Whitehall Township Police Department is investigating.

The department addressed a noise complaint in the 200 block of Maple Street.
