School board OKs bids for renovations

Retirements are announced for three longtime educators

During its March 12 meeting, Whitehall- Coplay School Board voted to accept bids from four contractors for renovations to Whitehall-Coplay Middle School.

The bids totaled $3,038,300 and included upgrades to the school’s HVAC, plumbing and electrical infrastructure.

The school board also accepted bids from IntegraONE and Micro Technology Group for the campuswide wireless project. IntegraONE will be contracted to handle the hardware at an estimated cost of $741,114, and Micro Technology Group will install the cabling at an estimated cost of $277,561.

Zephyr Elementary School is having its annual Barnes & Noble event 6-8 p.m. tonight, March 15. This year, there will be a scavenger hunt, trivia contest, a mystery reader and a homeroom competition where the homeroom with the most students in attendance earns a cookie party.

Family Stages Theater Program will perform March 21 at Gockley Elementary School.
