Quick work of FHS

Wednesday, May 29, 2013 by BY STEVE ANDRES Special to the Press in Sports

It was a ping and pop extravaganza as the Zephyr baseball team opened district play last week.

The ping was the sound of the Whitehall bats as they pounded out 14 hits en route to a 14-0 win over visiting Freedom High School to advance to the semifinals of the District 11 4A tournament. The pop was provided by starting pitcher Jake Wloczewski who mowed down the Patriots, surrendering just three hits during his five innings of work.
