"Fruitcakes" presents all the stereotypical small-town characters getting ready for the Christmas holiday in the fictional town of McCord's Ferry.
From a hillbilly neighbor who's laced his family's home in copious amount of Christmas lights, to elderly sisters who constantly feud, and the annual town Christmas play whose cast of children has succumbed to chicken pox, "Fruitcakes" will raise laughter from audiences as they watch the antics on stage.
A free concert will be performed by the Young Musicians of the Allentown Music Club, 1:30 p.m. Dec. 15, Country Meadows of Allentown, Building No. 4, 410 N. Krocks Road.

The Pennsylvania Jazz Collective (PJC) presents a Jazz Christmas vespers service, 4 p.m. Dec. 16, Church of the Manger, 1401 Greenview Drive, Bethlehem.
A jazz quintet will be led by PJC Artistic Director Alan Gaumer and Neil Wetzel, Ed .D., Director of jazz studies at Moravian College. The choir is directed by June Thomas, jazz vocal teacher at Muhlenberg College. Church staff include musician Sam Creyer and organist Mark Dennis.
The service will be presided over by the Rev. Sharon Joseph.
The performance is open to the public. A donation includes PJC holiday CD.
The 14th Annual Lehigh Valley Music Awards (LVMA) Dec. 2 at Musikfest Café, ArtsQuest Center, SteelStacks, Bethlehem, offered a rare opportunity for working musicians to get together under one roof.
The roughly three and one-half hour show consisted of live music performances interspersed with close to 100 award presentations. Nominees and winners were determined through online ballots cast by fans and those in the music business. Additional honorees were selected for outstanding achievement by the board of the Greater Lehigh Valley Music Association (GLVMA).

For 50 years, "Pip: The Mouse Before Christmas" has been delighting children of all ages. The annual staging of "Pip" began in 1962. This popular holiday puppet show made its debut at Hess's department store which was located in the heart of Allentown's downtown shopping district at Ninth and Hamilton streets.
The Crowded Kitchen Players (CKP) present a truly unique show with a strong storyline in "Parfumerie."
The play centers around a fictional pharmacy shop, Hammerschmidt's Parfumerie in Budapest, Hungary, and includes all the fun and entertainment that audiences have come to expect from the Lower Macungie-based CKP.
